Largest ant

Giant ant (Formicium giganteum) was 1 to 3 cm long, queens 5,5 cm. but lived 46 million  years ago. Smallest ant

The  Australian ant Carebara (Oligomyrmex) is 1 mm long, but the minor workers are smaller: 0.75 mm. These ants are at least the smalles ants in Japan. Also Leptanilla revelierii is very small. But not that small.
